WENDY FROUD ANNOUNCED DOLL EXHIBITION IN BERLIN GERMANY

HENSON AND OMNILAB ANNOUNCE "THE POWER OF THE DARK CRYSTAL"

In a joint announcement by Omnilab Media’s Christopher Mapp and The Jim Henson Company’s Lisa Henson, Australian based Omnilab Media is teaming up with The Jim Henson Company to bring the much anticipated fantasy sequel, “Power of the Dark Crystal” to the big screen in stereoscopic 3D. The highly anticipated film will be among the most ambitious projects to ever be produced in Australia. Peter Spierig and Michael Spierig, writers and directors of “Undead” and most recently, “Daybreakers,” have come aboard to direct the screenplay written by Australian Craig Pearce (“Moulin Rouge,” “Strictly Ballroom,” “Romeo + Juliet”) based on an original script by Annette Duffy and David Odell.

The legendary fantasy artist Brian Froud will reprise his role as conceptual designer of the film, which will use a stunning mix of live action and traditional puppetry combined with visual and special effects produced entirely in Australia. Omnilab-affiliated Iloura (“Where the Wild Things Are,” “The Pacific,” “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark”) has already begun work on the film’s complex CGI elements. WENDY FROUD THREE DAY SCULPTING WORKSHOP!
Petaluma CA USA: July 16th - 18th 2010

Wendy is returning to the USA this summer and is offering a special 3-day creature sculpting workshop in Petaluma, California on July 16-18, 2010.

Three days will allow us to come near completing a fantastical creature. Day One will include connecting to your faerie guide, building an armature and sculpting the head. Day Two will include constructing the body and sculpting the hands and feet. Day Three will include painting, the application of hair and fur and final costuming.

Each day we will be working from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM with an hour for lunch. The cost is $585.00 which includes polymer clay, armature wire and a selection of materials for hair, fur and costumes. Participants will need to bring basic tools and craft supplies.

WOODLAND: L.E. ALBUM RELEASE WITH BRIAN FROUD COVER ART
SUMMER UK CONCERTS ANNOUNCED!

Woodland has announced two major concert dates in England this summer: 3 Wishes Faerie Festival in Cornwall on June 19th and 20th to be followed by Woodland's return to London for the Urban Faerie ball in Kensington on June 25th. Both events will include live collaborations with ethereal-gothic singer and songwriter, Priscilla Hernandez from Barcelona, Spain.

FAERIE ACADEMY: LEAF MASK MAKING by Toby Froud

This workshop will use Greenman / leaf mask imagery in a personal exploration of the seasonal faces of the spirit of the forest. After a short, guided meditation contacting personal and individual forest spirit images, we will make foliate masks reflecting those images. Toby will both help each individual in the mask making process and will bring examples of his work using foliate images and leaf masks. No experience of meditation or mask making is needed.
