It was a year or so ago, i was 22 0r 23. my friend and i went to Queens wood, as i live in Herefordshire, it wasn't far to go for a day out...
As i tend to do, we wondered off the laid public ways/paths. we were climbing up an embankment and in the distance we saw the sight of a few deer between the trees, my friend decided she wanted a closer look and led the way. once i got my footing and was ready to follow... i saw 5 or 6 feet to the left of me, little gold wings. hovering by a vertical standing trunk, i couldn't see any features other than the glare of the wings! it was up-right with two elongated wings at the top (about 2 inches to a point), and two not so long at the bottom.
after 15 or so seconds of starring and 'it', it staying in one midair spot, i turned to call back my friend, who was making good progress trough the trees. only to turn back and see it had gone... i know i am meant to be too old to have/been open to sightings. but i knew what i saw, how peaceful and nice those 15 seconds were/felt. no one believes, but i know what i saw wasn't a butterfly/dragonfly or bird...

Two summers ago my son Fares and I were staying at my mother's house spending some wonderful vacation time together. Around nine o'clock at night my young son (age 6 at the time) wanted to go on a late night nature walk around my parent's beautiful property. It was a wonderful warm August evening and I was quite surprised by his request as it was the first time he had ever wanted to take such a walk. We ventured out into the bright moonlight and walked the perimiter of the property near the woods to hear the various summer sounds of the wind, animals and other life. As the walk was coming to an end, Fares and I decided to shine a light at the coy fish pond to have a look at the fish. As I pointed the flashlight down into the water, hovering above the water was the most unusual thing. A white angelic and inscect looking creature. Dragonfly like, but tail down and upright, wings at its side. The wings moved like gills on a fish, rythmic and gentle. My initial reaction
was that the creature was an unfamiliar kind of moth or other insect, but it most certainly was not. The creature hovered down to the water and touched the water and floated upward into the night sky. I said to my son that we had just seen... "A fairy!" my son finished my sentence. While we watched this being I was speechless. It was twice as big as a luna moth, white as snow, graceful and alien to me. I have many times searched the internet searching every imaginable insect in the moth and dragon fly family to rule out this possibility. It was not until I found Brian Froud's illustrations that I saw a breathtaking similar creature. The Angel representing "connection" or maybe "the Chalice." I wonder what inspired these illustrations, as they are the only pictures I have seen since this memorable incident that look like what we saw. Has anyone else seen something like this? Please let me know (post on the Froud Forum).

One warm, sunny, fall day, in 1998, I was at my friend Farrah's apartment by the river. I was sitting right beside the sliding, balcony windows, when out of the corner of my eye, I saw what I thought was a dried, curled up, brown leaf , fluttering down to the ground. I turned my head to watch the leaf when suddenly, it stopped mid-air! I saw it had beautiful, brown wings like a butterfly. I went in for a closer look and that is when I noticed it's little, smiling face! After she flew away, I immediatly thought, "What kind of butterfly is this!" My only conclusion was that it was not a butterfly, but I didn't know faeries were real.
I had always grown up with legends and stories of The Little people, but none ever prepared me for seeing one -especially one with wings! After a few years, I began to meet others like myself who have had encounters with the Fae.

OK so I'm Mom. My kids are all grown and are "gifted" in certain areas, I'm not so much as I don't "see".
This is kind of important and I'm afraid we don't have much time. The reason I'm using this contact space is it's the only one that someone might read and forward on to help.
I consider the Frouds to probably know more about Fae than anyone on the Planet.
"Ethan" is a tree spirit and my daughter used to visit him all the time growing up. Then my Mom died, then my Dad, Then my husband. All through it "Ethan" sort of acted the part of a quide, but couldn't stay away from his tree for very long, Big Maple or Oak, I'm not sure. Then we moved. She's 25 right now and had been with him since she was 8 or so. He hasn't been around much so she went to check on him.
The tree was hit by lightning and the people cut it down. So now the question, is he still there are is he gone? (She wasn't able to pick up any energy, she was so distraught). And if so can we try to start new growth from the root for him to go into? It hasn't been that long since it was hit, but there isn't much time (I don't think).
I've heard that wood nymphs die when their tree does.
There just isn't enough room here to go into much detail, you'd have to know us. We come from a line of Psychics and healers, but some of us just get so wrapped up in mundane sur-vival stuff it gets pushed out.
Any info would be much appreciated (respond on the Froud Forum).
Thanks.

So, we were making a feature length production at my home, which is an abandoned summer camp- and as you can imagine, a bunch of city people tromping around the quiet places with bright lights and no respect for whatever lived there, the fey were a little perturbed (usualy we get on quite well). So one night at about four in the morning, in the freezing cold I was attempting to roll up the seemingly endless series of electrical cords that go along with movie production when they became hopelessly tangled. so, I set about untangling them, laying them out all neatly on the grass and began to roll them up again- instant tangle. So, in an increasingly foul humor, I straightened them out Again. I start to roll- bang, tangled. I must admit I lost my temper then, and yelling into the night proclaimed "You wanna play it that way?? Fine!!" and proceeded to rip off my jacket, thrust it inside out, and jammed it back on again. The onlooking cast and crew still lingering on set were eying me with suspicion and alarm- though nobody said a word. And I set to the cords once more without further incident. later, of course, I apologised to the fey and left them some wine and some bread with honey on it and as I didn't awake with cockleburrs in my pants I assume they accepted.
